Just catching up on Regretsy and came across this gem. It’s a guy painting with his eye, enjoy!
By bending black wire into something of freestanding line drawings, I create sculptures that engage the viewer by involving them in their subtle changes. When the light in the room shifts, so does the mood of the piece. Gavin Worth
I have extra appreciation for the awesomeness of this because I’ve tried to do a similar thing in wire before and it was very difficult. Very very difficult.

Ice King grew bored with terrorizing Princess Bubblegum, Finn and Jake so he traveled to the Mushroom Kingdom to stir up some trouble. Scott Weston’s mathematical shirt design is now up for vote at Qwertee.

Tommy’s Adventure Time addiction is rubbing off on me!
I’m going to let you in on a little secret.
Artists do not have to be starving. Art doesn’t have to be the field that nonintellectuals venture down or that confused teens need to explore in order to “fight the man”. It doesn’t have to be the hobby of a drug-addled hippy. It doesn’t have to be…
I couldn’t have seen this at a better time!
I’ve pretty much been working towards today for the last 3 years, this is obviously the biggest exhibition I’ve been a part of and I’m shitting myself. I just hope I don’t get nervous, drink too much wine then fall over. It’s a strong possibility…
I’m sure I’ll get some photos to you’s throughout the day, as followers you’ve always been mega supportive about my art and I’m really thankful for that </soppypost>
And good luck to Stilljollyafteralltheseyears and Hey-Rabbit who’re also at the show tonight. BRING ON THE WALL WINE!!
UNIVERSITY OF ULSTER - DEGREE SHOW - 3RD - 10TH JUNE
This is for any Belfast/Northern Irish folk that fancy coming round to look and some awesome new artists! The opening night is this Friday and will be on for a week after. I never ask for people to reblog stuff but this is for a good cause, heh.

Work of art or child’s scrawl: Which one is which?
To test whether people really mistake paintings by professionals with those produced by children and chimps, researchers at Boston College showed art and non-art students pairs of images – one by an Abstract Expressionist … and one by a child or animal. Their survey results, released in March, revealed that a clear majority of participants in both groups liked the professional paintings more and judged them as better.
“We are showing that the disparaging things people say don’t hold up,” says Ellen Winner, chair of the Department of Psychology at Boston College and co-author of the study Seeing the Mind Behind the Art. “A child could not have painted a Twombly … even the untrained eye can see the difference.”
Editor’s note: Curious which is the kid’s painting and which is the one by the Abstract Expressionist? Click through for the answer.
You know, I’m glad something like this was done! I could tell instantly which one was the professional artist’s. There’s more to art that putting paint to page. There’s composition, line, tone, texture and more importantly, knowing when to stop!

This is what I managed to make in the final hours of my degree. I had always intended on making some cushions but my tutor pushed me to something slightly different and more fitting for the kind of bench I was using. And I’m so glad it did, it turned out way better that I could’ve imagined! Credit goes to our technicians Wilma and Heather for helping me out while I frantically sewed like I was possessed. I didn’t think it could be done in less than 9 hours but there you have it, heh.
Well Tumblr, that’s my degree finished. I feel so weird, like I’m not happy or relieved its over, I don’t feel like it’s over at all actually, it’s like it’s just another hand in and I’ll be back with everyone in a few months… The lack of sleep probably isn’t helping, I made 3 cushion covers in under 9 hours yesterday and had a grand total of about 1 and half hours sleep in the past 24 hours.
‘Sure, all you do is just draw pretty pictures’. Aye, sure mate.
When my brain/body starts to function normally again I’ll post some more images and shiz.

So this is my work on the wall for the Degree Show, when I had the first 4 hung I genuinely started to well up alittle. It was the first proper time that I thought ‘This is me, this is what I’m showing’.
I’m now at a really weird stage, for the first time ever I’ve got my ‘final piece’ finished and hung 3 days before the deadline, 3 DAYS! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve still got loads of stuff to finish up, like statements, commentary, sketchbooks, portfolio and contextual work but it just feels like I’m already finished. I’m going to be so lost without uni.
