I was clearing out my room at my parents’ house and like most people, we have a shitload of DVDs knockin’ about and I was just wondering if anyone have any ideas for them? I’ve tried looking for somewhere to recycle them but I haven’t had alot of luck so I’m trying to think of more creative things to do with them.
So far we’ve come up with making a table and using the tape to sew or weave. Any other ideas?
I can’t post a photo from my phone for some reason, app keeps crashing. So I’ll just post the text!
For those that couldn’t make it to Castleward my work is now up in the SpaceCraft gallery in Belfast for the month of September :) This will probably be the last time this work will be exhibited together, want to move on so mon and see it if you can!

I took this photo to remind myself that I don’t need to buy anymore t shirts. This isn’t even them all, there’s more at my student house and I can’t find some, including one of my favourite threadless ones (zombies only want you for your brains). I should really sell some but I just can’t seem to part with them D:
I’ve made a decision. I’m going to begin to make a t shirt quilt this week. Now lets all hope I don’t fuck it up!
to try some DIY screenprinting.
I’ve found a pretty simple tutorial using an embroidery hoop but if anyone can point me in the direction of some others it’d be much appreciated :)
UNIVERSITY OF ULSTER - DEGREE SHOW - 3RD - 10TH JUNE
This is for any Belfast/Northern Irish folk that fancy coming round to look and some awesome new artists! The opening night is this Friday and will be on for a week after. I never ask for people to reblog stuff but this is for a good cause, heh.

Just reblogging some of my favourite pieces from my other blog. Cause y’know, I want to :P no shame
Bench Bombing Illustration - Ulster Museum, Belfast

This is what I managed to make in the final hours of my degree. I had always intended on making some cushions but my tutor pushed me to something slightly different and more fitting for the kind of bench I was using. And I’m so glad it did, it turned out way better that I could’ve imagined! Credit goes to our technicians Wilma and Heather for helping me out while I frantically sewed like I was possessed. I didn’t think it could be done in less than 9 hours but there you have it, heh.

Look at his wee toothpick!!

Some yarn bombing at the Ulster Museum, Belfast today :D Really pleased with how they turned out, think the colours work well with it. Melanie also took a video of my stitching that piece wrapped around the bench so I’ll hopefully have that posted in the next few days.

Quick update on the progress of my work for anyone that’s interested. They’re obviously going to be finished neater than that but what’re you’re thoughts so far?

This is probably my favourite so far. I’m get excited when I see this, heh.

Just giving you a little update on how my work is coming along for the degree show :)
I had my last official tutorial last week (tear!) and finally decided on the scale and techniques I’m going to be using. Since the work is a form of documentation of the cushions I’ve been placing around Belfast, I decided to work on a scale that is slightly larger than a photo, 13x18cm. Since the stuff that worked best in the first semester was the black and white drawings contrasted with the bold, block colours, I’m recreating this using black stitch and appliquéd details.
The final hand in is on May 19th and I have to do a lot of other stuff like artist statements, commentary and contextual files so sadly, I’m still gona be lacking in proper Tumblr time. It sucks :(
